Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) signed legislation (Senate Bill 47) to legalize and regulate medicinal cannabis, making Kentucky the 39th state to permit its use. The new law directs the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services to adopt rules by July 1, 2024, with first sales expected sometime in 2025. As a result of Senate Bill 47, patients in Kentucky will soon have access to medicinal cannabis through a legal, regulated market.
